Will the Minister of ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has organized India AI Impact Summit 2026 in Delhi during the month of February, 2026 and if so, the details thereof along with the reasons for logistical issues faced by the stakeholders during the summit; (b) the total expenditure incurred by the Government on organising the India AI Impact Summit 2026 including venue, logistics, publicity, consultancy and hospitality expenses; (c) the number of participants sponsored or funded by the Government and the expenditure incurred per participant; (d) the source of funds utilized for the event and whether the expenditure was met through budgetary allocation or re-appropriation; 11.03.2026 516 (e) the details of sponsorships, private partnerships or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contributions received for the Summit, if any; (f) the objectives, measurable outcomes and deliverables identified for the Summit in relation to the India AI Mission; (g) whether any cost–benefit or post-event evaluation has been conducted to assess the impact of the Summit on policy, innovation or investment outcomes and if so, the details thereof; and (h) the manner in which India AI Mission under MeitY plan to translate summit discussions into concrete policies for inclusive AI adoption in sectors like agriculture, healthcare and education? THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY; AND MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SHRI JITIN PRASADA): (a) to (h): In line with Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's vision, the Government is democratising the development and usage of technology. The focus is using Artificial Intelligence (AI) for solving real-world problems and ultimately improving lives across various sectors. India - AI Impact Summit 2026 India hosted the India-AI Impact Summit 2026 from 16–21 February 2026 at New Delhi. For the first time, the global AI summit series took place in the Global South. The shift signals a broader move toward a more inclusive global AI dialogue. The Summit concluded as a historic global convergence, establishing 11.03.2026 517 India as a global hub for artificial intelligence innovation, governance, partnership, and inclusive growth. The five-day mega-event, the largest of its kind hosted by any developing nation, brought together leaders from governments, industry, academia, civil society, and startups under the theme “Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaya” (Welfare for all, Happiness of all). Objectives, measurable outcomes and deliverables The Summit discussions were structured around seven thematic “Chakras”: Human Capital, Inclusion, Safe and Trusted AI, Resilience, Innovation and Efficiency, Democratizing AI Resources, and AI for Economic Development and Social Good. The Summit aimed to facilitate dialogue, voluntary commitments and collaborative initiatives aligned with the goals of the IndiaAI Mission. These include strengthening AI infrastructure, promoting innovation, expanding skilling initiatives, ensuring sustainability and advancing responsible AI practices. Major initiatives and outcomes announced during the Summit included:  India AI Impact Summit Declaration endorsed by 92 countries and international Organisations with declaration acknowledging the work undertaken by seven thematic working groups during the Summit  New Delhi Frontier AI Impact Commitments were signed by 13 leading model providers  12 Deliverables across 7 working groups, with individual endorsements from 20+ countries for each deliverable [Significantly more than 11.03.2026 518 previous Summits] o Launch of the Global AI Impact Commons with 80+ impact stories across 30+ countries o Release of the Equitable AI Transition Playbook in partnership with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) o Signing of the Voluntary Guiding Principles for Resilient, Innovative and Efficient AI, endorsed by 20+ Countries o Signing of the Voluntary Guiding Principles for Reskilling in the Age of AI, endorsed by 24 Countries o Adoption of the Charter for the Democratic Diffusion of AI, with support from 25 countries and international o Release of the Playbook for Advancing Resilient AI Infrastructure o Release of Guidance Note on AI Governance, endorsed by 22 countries o Announcement of the Trusted AI Commons with 23 partner countries prior to formal launch o Announcement of the Alliance for Advancing Inclusion Through AI announced, endorsed by 21 Countries and UNICEF o Launch of the Network of AI For Science Institutions with 20 partner countries at inception o Launch of the Resilient AI Challenge in partnership with France and UNESCO  AI Responsibility Campaign – Global Record: India successfully achieved a Guinness World Record for the “Most pledges received for 11.03.2026 519 an AI responsibility campaign in 24 hours,” with over 2.5 lakh validated pledges  Six global casebooks documenting high-impact AI deployments were released, covering: o AI in Health (with WHO) o AI in Energy (with IEA) o AI in Gender Empowerment (with UN Women) o AI in Agriculture (with the Government of Maharashtra, supported by the World Bank) o AI in Education (with CSF and EkStep Foundation) o AI in Accessibility (with ALIMCO, IIIT-Bangalore and ChangeInkk Foundation)  AI Impact Startup Book was also launched by MeitY, presenting insights into India’s AI and deep-tech startup ecosystem. The Summit also witnessed announcements of investment commitments across the AI value chain, with expected investments exceeding USD 250 billion across infrastructure, foundation models, hardware, and applications. Large Indian companies announced plans to invest over a hundred billion dollars collectively in AI infrastructure and digital ecosystems, alongside partnerships to expand AI-ready data centres. Global venture capital firms pledged multi-billion-dollar investments to support AI innovation, while a leading technology company announced significant investments in connectivity, an AI hub in India, and large-scale training initiatives reaching tens of millions of public servants and students. 11.03.2026 520 The Summit served as a platform for dialogue, partnerships and investment announcements in the AI ecosystem. The Summit itself was not designed as a mechanism for estimating GDP growth or employment generation. The IndiaAI Mission under MeitY plans to take forward the broad discussions of the Summit through its 7 pillars, supporting AI startups and research institutions, strengthening access to compute infrastructure, and enabling pilots and scale up of AI for Good solutions in areas such as agriculture, healthcare, and education. The Mission also promotes collaboration between Government, industry, academia and international partners. The objective is to ensure that AI adoption remains aligned with national priorities and societal needs. The expenditure incurred till 9 March 2026 is Rs. 65 Crore. Government support was provided to around 400 participants. These included representatives of countries, participants of the Research Symposium and participants of Innovation Challenges.
