Will the Minister of FISHERIES ANIMAL HUSBANDRY AND DAIRYING be pleased to State: (a) the details of the 4,019 Mobile Veterinary Units (MVUs) made operational across 29 States and Union Territories since 2021-22, including the total number of farmers and animals benefited, State-wise; (b) the measures being taken by the Government to ensure effective delivery of veterinary services, timely maintenance of MVUs, and operational efficiency; (c) the proposals of the Government to expand coverage, enhance outreach, and reach underserved or remote regions; 03.02.2026 260 (d) the monitoring and evaluation mechanisms in place to assess the impact of MVUs on livestock health, productivity, and farmer livelihoods; and (e) the long-term strategies to integrate MVUs with broader livestock development, veterinary education, and rural employment initiatives? THE MINISTER OF PANCHAYATI RAJ; AND MINISTER OF FISHERIES, ANIMAL HUSBANDRY AND DAIRYING (SHRI RAJIV RANJAN SINGH ALIAS LALAN SINGH): (a) The details of the 4019 Mobile Veterinary Units (MVUs) made operational across States and Union Territories 2021-25022 are given in the enclosed Statement. (b) Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD), Government of India, under Livestock Health and Disease Control Program (LHDCP) Scheme, provides budgetary support to States and UTs for recurring expenditures on sharing basis. For enhanced outreach and coverage in remote regions, Mobile Veterinary Unit (MVU) operation is supported through the call centre where executive as well as Veterinary Doctors are stationed to help the farmers through toll free no 1962. (c) Presently, there is no proposal to increase the number of MVUs. (d) Apart from review meetings, state visits, and assessment of the State Action Plan, the evaluation is also done through National Level Monitors and Third Party Evaluation based on parameters such as funds utilized, farmers benefitted, animals treated. 03.02.2026 261 (e) MVUs are used for Veterinary care at farmer’s doorstep in far flung areas.
